10:30 AM   04/01/13 – Good Morning Connecticut!. I hope that everyone had a great Easter yesterday! The weather held out long enough to not bring any headaches. Temperatures are already in the mid 50’s at 10:00 this morning and I expect highs to top off in the upper 50’s today. There is a chance for a few showers in the afternoon today but after that it looks dry until Friday!

TODAY: Mostly Sunny with a high of 58 degrees. Winds WSW 15-20 mph. There is a chance for an afternoon shower.

TONIGHT: Clear and chilly with a low around 32. Winds WNW 15 mph

TUESDAY: Partly Sunny but much cooler with highs only in the mid 40’s. Westerly winds at 10-20 mph

Wednesday will be cooler as well before things warm back up on Thursday and Friday. Rain is expected on Friday and we’ll have details on that as we get closer. Next weekend should be in the mid 50’s and if we get this rain out of the way on Friday, then Saturday could end up being quite a gem!

Good Morning!  What a great weekend we had with very mild temperatures and abundant sunshine.  This week will start out cloudy today.  Tomorrow some rain moves into the area and that will be followed by some seasonable temperatures later in the week.

TODAY:  Cloudy with a high of 46°

TONIGHT:  Cloudy and mild with a low of 42°

TUESDAY:  Rain and very mild with highs in the mid 50's.  Rainfall totals of over 1 inch possible.  bye bye snow

The remainder of the work week will be dry with high temperatures in the low 40's.  I'm monitoring a possible snow event around the 19th or 20th of March.  That would be the last chance for snow in my opinion.

2 feet of snow. we won't get that. :)
After a pretty uneventful and mostly dry first 2 weeks of 2013, Connecticut will see some more snow on Wednesday.  Showers tonight will change to snow overnight across the state.  In North Haven, you can expect 1-2 inches of slushy accumulation from this system.  Most of the state should receive 2-4 inches of snow.  The locales closer to the shore will see a longer duration of rain and therefore will receive less.

Streets will be slick for the morning commute tomorrow and I wouldn't be surprised if there were some delays and possible cancellations of school tomorrow.

I don't expect the snow to start much before midnight so if you have anything you need to do tonight, I wouldn't cancel those plans!

A warm front is approaching and with it will come a little bit of moisture.  There isn't much but there may be enough to blanket the state with a dusting of snow.  Some towns may get up to 2 inches before it ends tomorrow morning.

This looks to be a quick burst of light snow that should occur between midnight through 6 am.

Today : Cloudy with a high of 41° Winds NE 5-10 mph

Tonight : Cloudy with a few snow showers after midnight.  A dusting to an inch of accumulation is possible.

Saturday : Mostly Cloudy with a few rain and snow showers throughout the day.  High 42°

Sunday : Cloudy but warmer with a high of 53°.  Breezy with winds SSW 10-15 mph

Good snowy morning Connecticut!  It looks like we will get a taste of winter today with amounts generally anywhere from a dusting to 3 inches statewide. Please read this special weather statement from the NWS. The heaviest precipitation will occur between 4-7 pm so be careful coming home from work this evening!  The extreme shoreline will mix with rain which will bring down the totals there.  Everywhere else can expect 1-3 inches before everything clears out around midnight tonight.

TODAY : Light Snow.  1-3 inches is expected. Lesser amounts at the immediate shoreline Highs 35-38° Winds NNE 5-10 mph

TONIGHT :  Snow showers.  Ending between midnight and 3 AM.  Winds N 10 mph

WEDNESDAY : Mostly Sunny.  High of 41°. Winds NW 10 mph

The remainder of the week will be dry but very cold.  Highs won’t approach 50° until Sunday!

Good Morning Connecticut!  After a very windy day yesterday where wind gusts were recorded up to 40 mph, today will be less breezy but it will be colder!  Highs today will barely reach 40 degrees!

I’ve been keeping an eye on a coastal storm possibility for Tuesday and/or Wednesday.  A few days ago it looked like we were going to get rain and wind but the cpu models are starting to agree on a more southerly track which puts us in snow territory.  The good news is that there isn’t a lot of moisture expected with this storm.  While all of Connecticut will see some white death this week, I think the most will be 3-5 inches in localized areas.  There is still time for the storm track to shift and change the amounts and the trend has been in the “less precipitation” category lately.  As of right now it looks like a 1-3 or 2-4 inches scenario.  The timing of the storm has sped up lately also and right now it looks like the evening commute on Tuesday could be a bit slick so keep that in mind.

I hope everyone enjoys the rest of the long Thanksgiving Day weekend and finishes up all those great leftovers!

The weather will cooperate for Thanksgiving this year!  The November dry spell for will continue through the holiday and we'll see sunny skies with temperatures in the 50's.  Overnight lows will be in the 30's.

For those of you who are heading out early on Black Friday, you'll need the jacket in the morning but the temperatures will moderate into the mid and upper 50's by afternoon.  Have fun and stay safe everyone!

High Pressure is building over the region and that means some nice sunny dry weather is on tap for the next several days.  There was a morning low of 34F here in North Haven.  Temperatures will moderate into the mid 40's this afternoon with plenty of sunshine.  Here is the rundown for the next few days for Connecticut.

Wednesday - Sunny.  High 46  Northerly winds 10mph
Wednesday Night - Clear and cold. Low 27

Thursday - Sunny. High 48  Winds N 5-10 mph
Thursday Night - Partly Cloud. Low 32

Friday - Mostly Sunny. High 50 Winds N 5mph
Friday Night - Partly Cloudy. Low 32
